A few individual hits varying in volume on a semi-large Nagado taiko. Recorded with Zoom H2 in slightly echoey hall.

These four hits are probably the best sounding Taiko Drum samples on FreeSound.org. These samples are under the creative commons 3.0 license. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/. How to make Octatrack Sample Chains:

- Process your samples into individual hits of 8, 16, 32, 64. The amount just depends on the size of the Octatrack Sample Chain you'd like to make. Starting out, I usually prefer to make groups of 16, because this allows all of the samples to be shown and triggered from the first bank of Trigs.

- Use any sample editing software to align the samples so that they are evenly spaced. The attacks need to be spaced evenly. In certain situations the decay of a sample may need to be trimmed to accommodate the next attack. This does not usually effect the performance once they are built as Octatrack Sample Chains because they will most likely be used in a percussive manner, and full decays will never usually ring out.

- Bounce the resulting sample chain and it should look something like this:
